Jefferson county fair grounds in Madison Indiana was were the race was on 7-16-10. The sky was blue and the sun was shining and it was extremely hot. The Willis team arrived with a different power plant under the hood after losing the engine at Rushville. The Suzuki engine would be in the car for this race. After Hotlaps Qualifying would be up. Jason timed in fourth fast. This would put the Willis car in the pole position for the Jackson oil duel for fuel. The worst place for the competition is to put Jason on the pole. Jason lead every lap to win the Willis team their third Jackson oil duel for fuel win in a row. The heat race would be next. It didn't take Jason long to get into second behind Nick Speidel. But, was able to get no farther and finished second in the heat race. The feature would be next. The Willis team having won the last three races at Madison would be going for their fourth. Jason would be starting third row inside. The track had gotten very slick from all the sun and heat and it would be difficult to pass. When the green flag dropped Jason was on the move. Even though the track was slick Jason was still able to pass and got into second behind Jason Knoke. With repeated attempts to make the pass Jason was able to take the lead. It seemed that it was all over and the Willis team would win their fourth win at Madison as Jason was stretching out his lead and nobody was even close. But, with seven laps to go the engine in the Willis #25 went quiet. The battery failed with all the heat of the day and the ignition for the Suzuki engine turned off. Nick Speidel would inherit the lead for two laps before he too dropped out. Jason Knoke then retook the lead and went on to win the feature. " We did everything that you had to do to win, but finish." says Jason Willis driver of the Willis #25. Congratulations to Jason Knoke on the feature win.
